We are grateful you are here. This movement is celebrating its ten year anniversary. But our only hope for the future is if more people like YOU believe in the dream to change the world through empathy.

On June 8, 2015, what started as a humble social experiment snowballed into a social movement. 

Here's what happened next: Over the course of 365 days, artist and empathy activist Kim Smiley posted a story and photograph every morning about someone transforming the world through empathy. The movement went viral on day 5 and now inspires over 275,000 followers in 75 countries. 

Established as a national nonprofit organization in 2017 and a charitable foundation in 2020, our mission is to galvanize an empathy revolution, elevating empathy in private life and public discourse. 

Empathy Empire reminds us that although life can be unkind, each of us has the capacity to choose a world in which kindness rather than cruelty reigns.
